Roy Pearson: Still An Asshole

Quick summary: Custom Cleaners, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Chung, lost a pair of suit pants belonging to then-D.C. Administrative Law Judge judge Roy Pearson. Pearson sued them for $67 MILLON and demanded they give him $1000, which was the total cost of the entire suit. The Chungs initially refused and tried to fight the case. They eventually offered him $12,000 to settle the suit. No good. Pearson reduced the amount of the lawsuit to a paltry $54 million but pressed on with the case.

 

Well, Pearson lost that case (and eventually his job… Ha, sucker!) The judge ordered Pearson to cover the Chungs’ legal costs… But this shithead didn’t even do that. Instead, he filed a $1 million lawsuit against the District in May 2008, demanding compensation and his job back. (Good luck with that!) The Chungs ended up having to raise money themselves to pay off their legal fees (wtf?!) AND they had to close one of their two dry cleaners. They even dropped their countersuit against Pearson because of the steep legal fees.

Now after ALL THAT, he’s back, appealing the case. The local ABC affiliate has more on that here. I mean, who the fuck does this guy think he is?

There’s an article on this story over at I Am Lawsuit Abuse.org along with a video interview with the Chungs. Is this really what the US justice system needs to be dealing with? Is this really what two small business owners need to be dealing with? Some asshole who’s making the lives of these hard-working folks a living hell just because thinks he’s entitled to a gazillion dollars… all over a pair of suit pants?!

I just hope he gets what’s coming to him one day. And good luck getting anything dry cleaned in the future, Roy!
